May 21, 2011

The May meeting of WVAWS was held at the lovely country home of Sue and Gary Arndt.   After strolling the grounds sipping wine and inspecting the crops and the new greenhouse we went into their lovely , antique filled home to eat.

President Gary called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.

Gary passed out Posters to the membership for distribution.  He mentioned that we owe for the printing of the posters, the artwork on the posters and our annual liability insurance.    As of March 26 we had $758.42 in the treasury.  We should have a more current balance at the next meeting.

Mary Marshall is looking for a previous press release so that we have a model to use for this year's wine judging contest.

We were asked to check the website to see if any changes need to be made.

Ronald Cooper brought some Morio Muscat for judging and commented on the wide scale of marks given by the club in a previous judging.  he suggested that perhaps a wine expert might be brought in to help the members learn how to properly judge and taste wines.  The consensus was that that was a very good idea and it will be looked into for a future meeting.

The June meeting will be held at the home of Ivan and Martha Wells.   There will be judging of Pinot Gris.

The wine drawing was held and the meeting adjourned by President Gary at 6:15 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
